about our little business
Hello! Thank you for taking the time to learn about our small business. My name is Jess.
Mochi Mochi Wagashi was started in 2021, although I have been making mochi since the early 2000's. I spent most of my career in the jewelry industry as a marketing executive until permanently losing my job in March 2020 due to the pandemic.
With so much time on my hands and needing to find a way to create income for my family, I turned my long-time mochi passion into a small business. I realized there are so many fellow confectioners online who make everything from cookies to cakes, sausage rolls and of course mochi! Many of these entrepreneurs became friends and I've been so lucky to meet so many wonderful people through mochi. Food is what brings us together, right?
I prefer to eat my mochi on a Sunday morning, while sipping a cup of either my favorite rose or green tea. My favorite flavors are inspired by calm and relaxation, while the sweeter flavors are inspired by my 11-year old. Each piece of mochi is hand wrapped with love, just hours before you enjoy it so it is as fresh as can be. I hope you enjoy - thank you for shopping small, eating local, and sharing aloha!
Mochi love,
Jess
